About ELMA

I am a graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Effects and a minor in Concept Arts for Games. I have accrued 7 years of tutoring experience, and 2 years of design and marketing experience that often required bilingual use of English and Chinese, both of which I am very fluent in.

Personality Traits:

Accountable, responsible, hard-working, organized, quick study, diligent, loyal, flexible, team player, high tolerance of pressure, collaborative, humble

In 2019, I had an internship at a film post-production company, Digital Domain. I was trained under the compositing and matte painting departments in Digital Domain for a few months under 4 supervisors. During this training, I integrated live-action footage with matte paintings, 2D, and CG elements. This strengthened the fundamental compositing skills such as rotoscoping, color grading (2D and CG), keying, and matte extractions (blue/green screen or without any screen) in Nuke. I also created a matte painting in photoshop using their assets and projected it in Nuke (using camera projection). The second internship I got in 2019 was a full-time position as a 3D Modeler and Visual Effects Editor at a VFX, gaming, and educational company, Koding Kingdom in Hong Kong. I built visual effects assets for their VR game project.

From 2020 to 2021, I took two gap years in my studies due to the covid-19 pandemic while working as an assistant marketing manager at an intimate lifestyle company, Wanta. My major responsibilities were to manage all the designs and commercial work for the company. I assisted different departments to develop a successful marketing strategy, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and accurately logging meeting notes. I also scheduled weekly promotions with the advertising department and ensured all projects ran smoothly, and on time. During my time with Wanta, I had the opportunity to collaborate with companies around the world such as LELO,  Je Joue, and Lora DiCarlo which furthered my experience in marketing and advertising.

Apart from marketing experience, I’ve also worked as an Art Teacher at Choco L’art Studio, Smiles Arts, A-School in Hong Kong. I hosted daily arts and crafts workshops for ages ranging 3 to 50+ including acrylic painting, drawing, clay sculpting, and crafting. Therefore, I have become very proficient with communicating and instructing a wide variety of groups and clients from varying backgrounds.

Lately, I’ve just finished my first CGI and live-action short film, “I Snake You” https://elmaf8739.wixsite.com/elmarts/snake. I am the producer, director, concept artist, 3D modeling artist, and compositor. As such, I am very familiar with the production pipeline, including the assignment and organizing of tasks while supporting my team.

All of these experiences have taught me how to maintain productivity in a high-stress post-production and marketing environment. I am very goal-oriented, diligent, and always strive for the highest quality results in a time-sensitive manner. Additionally, I have acquired presentation skills and have been invited to present at several schools, even winning an annual SCAD public talk.
